Neon Warrior is the alias of Gocha Aniashvili, a Tbilisi-based musician, live
performer, and sound engineer whose work maps the emotional contours of life
under late capitalism. Known for curating Open Deck at TES, his music occupies
a space between private intensity and collective resonance. He is also 1/2 of C.O.G project along with Generali Minerali.
Before stepping into electronic territory, Gocha drew early inspiration from sludge
metal—a formative influence that continues to echo in the weight and distortion
that shape his sonic palette. His work is equally informed by the cold, brute
textures of Birmingham techno and the stripped-down minimalism of Berlin, both
of which form a structural backbone beneath the emotional volatility of his
sound. His 2020 albums, Nemesis (Obseqvivm Records) and Tsadamkhvani (Solemne
Records), trace a hauntological arc—futures imagined, abandoned, then
resurrected as spectral sound. But it is with Botanical Garden that Gocha reaches
his most poignant terrain: a dreamlike descent into memory and geography,
where a seaside garden becomes a site of melancholic wonder.
“I create music only when I’m under stress,” he confesses—a revealing admission
in an era where creativity is wrung from crisis. His is not music as escape, but as
exorcism—tuning into the frequencies of a world that feels both too much and
not enough.
