NATHALIE BERIDZE^[GE]

Natalie Beridze is a Georgian composer and songwriter, known as the first female electronic music artist from Georgia. Performing internationally since 2003, she moved to Cologne after signing a record deal in Germany in 2002 and produced music under the artist name TBA until 2008. Her music has been released by labels including Max.E, Monika Enterprise, Laboratory Instinct, Apollo Records, ROOM40, and others.

Beridze has collaborated with artists including Ryuichi Sakamoto, Thomas Brinkmann, AGF (Antye Greie), Gudrun Gut, Nika Machaidze (Nikakoi), Gacha Bakradze, and Alex Kordzaia. Her music also appears in Adam Curtis’s BBC documentary series Can’t Get You Out of My Head.

Alongside electronic music and songwriting, Beridze composes for piano, orchestra, and choir. Her work has been performed by Tamro Kordzaia, Vera Kappeler, Mondrian Ensemble, Zagareli and Strings, and the Tbilisi State Opera Orchestra. She has also been part of the Monika Werkstatt collective on Monika Enterprise, while her recent compositions for piano, keyboard, soprano, and tape are part of the ongoing program of Zurich-based Kiosk Ensemble.

Alongside Nika Machaidze, Beridze teaches songwriting and music production at CES (Creative Education Studio).
